2009-2010 SENIOR BOARD PROFILES

President | Drew McCulley | email | resume

Drew McCulley is a senior from Walton, IN, majoring in agriculture sales and marketing. Drew has been a part of the Grand Prix Foundation since his freshman year; serving on the facilities junior board for his first two years and served as the Director of Facilities last year. Drew is serving as the President for Grand Prix and is in charge of leading the meetings this year; also as head of the Safety Committee, Drew spends much of his time working with corporate sponsors and being the face of the Grand Prix Foundation for the University. In addition to being involved with the Grand Prix, Drew is involved with Alpha Gamma Rho and enjoys the outdoors. “I love being part of an organization that has such a rich tradition at Purdue.”

   

Director of Business | Lauren East | email | resume

Lauren East is serving as the Director of Business for the 53rd running of the Purdue Grand Prix. She is a senior from Schaumburg, Illinois and is majoring in Communication with concentrations in Public Relations and Advertising. Lauren’s responsibilities on the Grand Prix Senior Board consist of managing the budget and finances throughout the year, planning the Victory Banquet, coordinating the VIP events, and organizing the scholarship opportunities. In addition to Grand Prix, Lauren is the Treasurer of the American Advertising Federation - Purdue Chapter, and captain of her intramural basketball team. Previously, Lauren served one year on the Special Events Junior Board, and two years as the Director of Special Events. Her favorite part of Grand Prix is seeing the Foundation's drive to work together in order to continue a Purdue tradition that students and the community enjoy each year.

   

Director of Facilities | Aaron Trost | email

Aaron Trost is a junior from Westfield, IN, majoring in Agricultural and Biological Engineering. Aaron has been a part of the Grand Prix Foundation since his freshman year; serving on the facilities junior board for his first two years and currently serves as the Director of Facilities. As the Director of Facilities, he works with all physical grounds of the track and work with safety officials and machine shop workers. In addition to being involved with the Grand Prix, Aaron is involved with Alpha Gamma Rho and the Purdue Water ski club. He enjoys being a part of the Grand Prix experience and working with everybody involved with the foundation: Junior boarders, Teams, Drivers, Scholarship winners, etc.

   

Director of Productions | Jon Van Norman | email | resume

Jon Van Norman is a junior from Rochester, MN, majoring in Accounting and Management with concentrations in MIS and Analytical Consulting. Jon is currently servings as the Director of Productions on his fourth year with the Grand Prix Foundation. The Productions committee is responsible for handling the development, layout and writing of the souvenir program, ensuring the race is televised, working with the media before and on race day and maintaining Grand Prix History. Aside from Grand Prix, Jon is also involved with the School of Management Employers Forum and the Purdue Yearbook. Jon's favorite part of the year comes on race day, “when the green flag drops and you can see our teamwork payoff.”

 

Director of Promotions | Samantha Sisk | email

Samantha Sisk is a senior from Danville, IN, majoring in Agricultural Communication graduating in May 2010. This is her forth year on the foundation, serving on the Promotions Junior Board for three years prior to becoming this year’s Director of Promotions. Her responsibilities include promoting the race through the local media such as TV, radio, and social media outlets, as well as promotion on campus and the surrounding community. In addition to the Grand Prix Foundation, Samantha is also involved with the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow, serving as vice-president, Purdue College of Agriculture Ambassadors, and the Indianapolis 500 Festival Princess Program. She is involved with Grand Prix because the race is of one of Purdue’s greatest traditions and she is proud to be a part of an organization that truly lives by its motto of students helping students.

 

Director of Special Events | Audrey Necessary | email

Audrey Necessary is serving as the Director of Special Events for this years 53rd running of the Grand Prix Race. She is a Senior from Fort Wayne, Indiana and is a student in the School of Health Sciences. She is planning to go on to graduate school in order to obtain her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. The Special Events committee coordinates Grand Prix Day, the Grand Prix Race Day Parade, and other numerous events throughout the year. Not only will this be Audrey's third year helping with the race; but she also enjoys playing intramural softball, being around her family, and hanging out and making memories with friends. Audrey is proud to be a part of the Grand Prix Foundation because, “It is such a grand tradition at Purdue and it feels so great to be part of the history and build bonds with people while working to help this thrilling race live on!”

   

Director of Race | Kendal Ross | email | resume

Kendal Ross is a senior from Delphi, IN majoring in Industrial Management with a minor in Manufacturing Management. Kendal has been on the Grand Prix Junior Board the past two years on the race and facilities committees. He is in charge of rule revisions, technical inspections, practices, and communication with the drivers. Kendal enjoys working with the Junior Board especially at the track. He loves the fact that Grand Prix is run by students and raises $10,000 for scholarships. He is also a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. Kendal is excited for another Grand Prix and can’t wait to be back on the new track.

   

Director of Race | Adam Bell | email

Adam Bell is a senior from Covington, IN majoring in Agricultural Systems Management. This is his third year with the Grand Prix Foundation and is currently serving as Director of Race. He spent 2 years on the race and facilities junior board prior to this. His responsibilities include coordinating the drivers and their teams as well as working along side the safety officials. This ensures that everyone enjoys a safe, fair, and fun race. Adam is also involved in Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, Alpha Mu honorary society, and ASM club. Adam enjoys seeing the race come together and the karts fly around the track after months of hard work and preparation.

 

Director of Sales | Ashley Macy | email | resume

Ashley Macy is a senior from Rushville, Indiana, majoring in Agricultural Economics, graduating in May 2010. This is Ashley’s third year to be a part of the Grand Prix Foundation. She spent her first two years serving on the Special Events Jr. Board, and is now serving as the Co-Director of Sales for the Sr. Board. Her responsibilities, along with her other Co-Director, include being in charge of ticket sales, program sales, shirt design and sales, and obtaining local sponsorships. In addition to devoting her time to the Grand Prix Foundation, Ashley is also a Big Sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program in her home community. Ashley’s favorite part of the Grand Prix Foundation is “being able to see our hard work and dedication come together to put on an event that is not only a fun aspect for students and the local community to attend, but being a part of a celebrated Purdue tradition that we ensure will be carried on for year’s to come.”

 

Director of Sales | Kimberly Beard | email
Kimberly Beard is from Frankfort, Indiana and is a Senior in Youth, Adult, and Family Services, minoring in Law and Society. Last year, Kimberly served as the
President's Assistant and is now serving as the Director of Sales. In this
position, Kimberly is responsible for ticket sales, souvenir sales, and
obtaining local sponsorships. She is excited to be apart of such a great event
and loves the tradition of Grand Prix. In addition to being involved with Grand
Prix, Kimberly also spends her time as a volunteer for CASA (Court Appointed
Special Advocates for abused and neglected children). After graduation,
Kimberly plans to attend law school to pursue a JD Degree in hopes of becoming
a family attorney.

 

Director of Scoring | Megan Jarrett | email | resume

Megan Jarrett is a senior from Omaha, Nebraska, majoring in Civil Engineering. Serving as the Director of Scoring, she is responsible for a functioning scoring system that will be used for the race. She also works with the drivers making sure that their karts are picking up the corresponding scoring signal. In addition to Grand Prix, Megan is treasurer of the American Society of Civil Engineers and an active member in her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega. This is her third year with the Grand Prix Foundation hopes to make it the best yet!
